HISTORY
|
The Hospital del Mar VET School is a public center specialized in healthcare training with 45 years of experience in which we have trained more than 5000 students. We are linked to the Mar Parc de Salut Consortium and the Barcelona Education Consortium, forming part of the public educational resources of the city of Barcelona. We are part of the healthcare and knowledge consortium that brings together the Hospital de Mar, the Hospital de l'Esperança, social and mental health centers, the Hospital del Mar VET School, research centers and university studies in health and life sciences affiliated with the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University. At the Hospital del Mar VET School we teach training cycles, lifelong education courses, accredit the work experience of professionals and design and impart tailor-made courses for companies and institutions. We are a Professional Health Training Center, which is characterized by its specialization and recognition in the health sector. We have teachers specialized in all specific areas; we focus on training students in professional practice and job placement.

| Our Mission |
| We are a public education center for Health Vocational Education and Training owned by Hospital del Mar. Our relationship with the health sector stems from this direct link with the sector. We train and qualify people in the field of health and biosciences so that they can become technically competent professionals and at the same time contribute value and strengthen the sector from a comprehensive and sustainable perspective. We have our own educational project, open to multiple and diverse collaborations and alliances that aims to train professionally competent people and committed to society, who are at the same time respectful and understand the importance of the sector in which they will work, health, as one of the pillars of our country and the welfare state. We take on the complexity and diversity of our students as a challenge and we understand training as an opportunity for both professional and personal development. We train and qualify professionals in the field of health, and we do so from various itineraries throughout life. The Hospital del Mar VET School is a public Health Vocational Education and Training Center that supports students in their training process as individuals and as future professionals in the healthcare world, working on the professional skills and associated values that the sector requires. |
| Our Vision |
We want to be a center recognized as an integrated Vocational Education and Training center, a reference for the healthcare professional family both for the sector and for the public. We want to base our project on joint work with organizations and companies in the sector, sharing projects with other centers and with health professionals, integrating the principles of sustainability in the center's activities and its organization and responding to the expectations of students and citizens.

Elena Senis
I have a degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biosciences from Heidelberg University (Germany). I have worked for more than 10 years in research, in particular developing gene therapy projects at Heidelberg University (Germany) and stem cells and cancer projects at the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (Barcelona). For years, my profession was to do science, but now I dedicate myself to my vocation: teaching it. My goal is to pass on to students everything I have learned doing research for years and to instill in them a passion for working in the laboratory. In addition, I coordinate the International Relations Office to contribute my experience abroad to the internationalization of our education center.

Roser Pagan
Researcher
Doctor in Biology from the University of Barcelona. I worked as a laboratory director and project manager at the company Advanced In Vitro Cell Technologies (ADVANCELL) at the Barcelona Science Park from 2001 to 2008. In 2008 I joined the Institute. I am currently the Head of Studies at the center and responsible for the curricula of the different training cycles we teach. I participate in different working groups inside and outside the center, highlighting the Be-Pro network that brings together all the Institutes of Professional Health Training that are part of the Barcelona Education Consortium. Responsible for the leadership of the management team of the center's international relations group. | David Flamarich
Researcher
Nurse. Specialist in Mental Health. I have worked in both healthcare, teaching and research throughout my professional career in various services and hospitals in Barcelona such as the Catalan Health Institute, Hospital de Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Hospital de Sant Pau Research Institute, among others. I also have work experience in the Clinical Pharmacology Service of Hospital de Sant Pau as a nurse responsible for research projects at CIEN (Center for Research on Neurological Diseases). At the same time, from 2006 to the present, I have participated as a collaborating professor in the Clinical Pharmacology subject of the Nursing Degree at the Sant Joan de Déu Teaching Campus. In 2013 I began my work relationship as a psychiatric nurse at Parc de Salut Mar in various specialized units and in 2016 I joined the Institut Hospital del Mar FP Sanitària as a teacher of the VET Degree in Nursing Auxiliary Care. |
