The Hospital del Mar VET School is a public center specialized in healthcare training with 45 years of experience in which we have trained more than 5000 students. We are linked to the Mar Parc de Salut Consortium and the Barcelona Education Consortium, forming part of the public educational resources of the city of Barcelona. We are part of the healthcare and knowledge consortium that brings together the Hospital de Mar, the Hospital de l'Esperança, social and mental health centers, the Hospital del Mar VET School, research centers and university studies in health and life sciences affiliated with the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University. At the Hospital del Mar VET School we teach training cycles, lifelong education courses, accredit the work experience of professionals and design and impart tailor-made courses for companies and institutions. We are a Professional Health Training Center, which is characterized by its specialization and recognition in the health sector. We have teachers specialized in all specific areas; we focus on training students in professional practice and job placement.

We want to be a center recognized as an integrated Vocational Education and Training center, a reference for the healthcare professional family both for the sector and for the public. We want to base our project on joint work with organizations and companies in the sector, sharing projects with other centers and with health professionals, integrating the principles of sustainability in the center's activities and its organization and responding to the expectations of students and citizens.

I have a degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biosciences from Heidelberg University (Germany). I have worked for more than 10 years in research, in particular developing gene therapy projects at Heidelberg University (Germany) and stem cells and cancer projects at the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (Barcelona). For years, my profession was to do science, but now I dedicate myself to my vocation: teaching it. My goal is to pass on to students everything I have learned doing research for years and to instill in them a passion for working in the laboratory. In addition, I coordinate the International Relations Office to contribute my experience abroad to the internationalization of our education center.
