THE IMPORTANCE OF ORIENTATION TRAINING
Orientation training for newly hired nurses is highly important. This training facilitates the nurse’s adaptation to the institution, enhances patient safety, and positively impacts job motivation and satisfaction. In our country, according to Healthcare Quality Standards (HQS), all newly hired hospital staff must undergo orientation training.
Orientation training is conducted in two different forms: general orientation training and departmental orientation training. General orientation training is defined as the training provided to newly hired personnel to introduce them to the institution. Departmental orientation training, on the other hand, refers to the training given to new employees in a specific clinic, unit, or department to familiarize them with their respective work environment.
